The Southern Enterprises Antebellum Black/ Walnut Entertainment Center Electric Fireplace shows off classic cottage style, with an attractive combination of satin black body and warm walnut finish top. The finish includes distressing and "worm holes" for a natural aged look. Louvered doors on either side hide an adjustable shelf ready to fit all your gear. The open electronics shelf on top has convenient, concealed access holes for cabling, to keep your room looking tidy and organized. The easy-to-use fireplace requires no electrician. Just plug it in, turn it on, and enjoy the cozy atmosphere in your home or office. It's energy-efficient, too. It heats 1500 cubic feet in only 24 minutes, using about the same energy as a coffee maker, and produces zero emissions or pollutants. It's safe, as well: the glass stays cool to the touch. I bought this product for the ambiance in my living room and to have a place for my TV and Home Theater and Cable Box.
Very happy with the realism of the flames and logs! The remote lets you control both to your liking.
The cabinet is also well built and attractive.
I cannot comment on how well it heats a room as I did not buy it for that purpose and have not tested it out for any lenght of time. But sitting in front of the 'fire' and turning on the heat is pretty cool and the heater was quiet.
I bought this at a small local shop already assembled so cannot comment on shipping or assembly.
The only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the depth of the open shelf. Make sure you measure your components as the depth is only 14" and both my home theater and cable box stick out a bit, but doesn't ruin the looks of it. But it is wide enough that it holds both components and my center speaker.
