I bought this for my 8 year old (and me). He got interested in his Uncle's soft tip dart board and I thought he would like to try at home. It was easy to install using the directions. Board is laid out nicely so that it is easy to figure out. As a beginner, game instructions are clear to pick the game we want. My only very minor criticism is there are several bounce outs, especially for my son. I have a few myself, I throw solid but I don't throw the dart like a baseball either. My brother came over and he was launching them in...he didn't have any bounce outs. All in all I am please with this board in the first three weeks of ownership. I would recommend this unit if you are looking in this price range. Again, this is my first dart board... I don't have much to compare it to.

Had bristle board with steel tip darts and kids took an interest in playing, but for safety reasons/scoring wanted a soft tip board with auto scoring. After research chose CM 300 so they could enjoy the game safely and without difficulty of attempting to score the games. After great difficulty with the order (which dartboards.com rectified in timely fashion) board arrived. Kids (age 10 and 13) excited, but high bounce out rate for them was frustrating and decreased their interest level significantly. For me and 16 y/o daughter board seems to work well with acceptable bounce out rates. Seems that I am the only one who continues to play with and enjoy the new board. The sound quality of the scoring is very poor and muffled and the microphone function to record players' names is not functional. Overall I am satisfied with the product and would recommend for casual adult players, but unfortunately my two younger children do not enjoy it nearly as much as I.
If only there was an affordable, auto scoring bristle type board....

Really disappointed with just how cheap this board and its accessories were. The dart tips came right out of the barrels after thrown, the buttons rarely worked the first time they were pressed. On the first dart ever thrown at the board, it didn't even recognize the score. Very cheap, I expected a lot better for almost $100

I had an original arachnid ara450 that I've been using for about 15 years. Super dartboard! It gave out & I wanted to purchase another high quality arachnid board. The Cricket master 300 looked just like my old one only with more cool features. Boy was I surprised when I opened the box. The board was much smaller & half as thick, the segments were not even regulation size. Not what I expect from an arachnid board that retails for [$] on the arachnid web site. I sent it back & plan to replace it with the 650 model. After more reaserch it seems like a better fit for my use. Hayneedle was very good about the transaction & I plan to use them again.
