Comments about Baader Planetarium Hyperion Zoom 2.25x Barlow Lens:
The innovative modual platform in outstanding. I can use it on my other 1.25 eyepieces with great results, but it really performs with the Zoom. I had heard a lot of criticism about zoom lenses paired with barlows and was somewhat hesistant to take this plunge, but none of my fears were realized. This barlow and the Mark III zoom are outstanding......and i don't have to hassle with constantly changing out ep.

Comments about Baader Planetarium Hyperion Zoom 2.25x Barlow Lens:
I've really come to appreciate this unique Barlow over the past three months. I use it in my Zhumell 10 inch f/5, 1250mm focal length dobsonian. It complements extremely well the Baader Hyperion 8-24X Zoom eyepiece, yielding me nearly 360X magnification and expanding the useful magnification of the eyepiece enormously when seeing conditions allow.
I prefer this one to other Barlow lenses because it screws directly onto the 1.25 inch eyepiece barrel. As such, it always remains precisely aligned to the optical axis of the eyepiece and I feel this is strict alignment is important at the very high power that is capable of delivering. The mating thread pitch is the same as that of a 1.25 inch filter and it should fit any eyepiece that accepts standard filters. With the Barlow attached, the Hyperion Zoom eyepiece has to be racked farther inward by approximately 5 millimeters in order to reach focus. Make sure you have at least that amount of infocus leeway available in your system or you may not be able to reach focus.
It comes with a threaded adapter that mates it to the Baader Planetarium 2 Inch to 1.25 inch Reducer - Item#: AAS001. In this optional configuration, the Barlow screws on to the 1.25 eyepiece adapter so that you can change eyepieces normally without having to unscrew the Barlow lens.
The Baader Barlow has also enhanced my 24 mm Hyperion eyepiece. It preserves the 68° apparent field of view, turning that eyepiece into a potent galaxy hunter and really improves the views through that eyepiece as well.
