I purchased two Charleston recliners for our kitchen sitting room. The color is beautiful, rich and much darker than the website depicts. Actually the picture doesn't do the chair justice. They are a larger arm chair style but not huge and clunky like typical recliners. They were easy to put together by sliding the backrest into the seat brackets, screwing the feet on and you're done. The only thing I would change is the leather flap in the back, covering where the backrest and the seat meet, gaps open when in the reclined position as there is only velcro on the bottom of the flap and not on the sides. Adding velcro on the sides would remedy this if it bothers you. Very nice chair for the money. Nothing else compares in this price range especially in top grain leather.
This was my first purchase from Hayneedle and I would definitely recommend them. The free shipping is a real plus and the upgrade of 2.99 for each chair was well worth it. I placed the order on Sunday and they were here Wednesday. My FedX driver was very nice and polite. I realize that is determined by your locale. Overall I'm very happy!

Before I rate the chair I first want to say that Hayneedle is a good company and I am very pleased with the ease of ordering, fast shipping and excellent customer service. I would not hesitate to order from Hayneedle again. As for the chair - [*] I selected this chair based mostly upon price, but also because it is a Barcalounger and I thought that brand was still made in the states (not so, at least for this one; perhaps the more expensive chairs are still made in the US). The chair arrived quickly and is very simple to assemble (slide on the back and screw in the feet). It is attractive and I like the height of the back (I am 6' 1" and this chair does support my head), but unlike the Barca it replaces the seat cushion does not remove, and the padding in the lower back area is a bit too thin, so not much lumbar support. The reclining mechanism works fine and doesn't creak or groan, but be aware that it doesn't fully recline into a nearly horizontal position as many recliners do (including my old Barca). My primary concern is the odor it emits, and nearly a week later it is still off-gassing a chemical odor (don't know if it's from the filling or the leather), but hopefully continued airing and perhaps a rubdown with a leather cleaner may mitigate the odor issue. All in all and considering the price, I can live with this chair (assuming the odor finally dissipates, which it probably will), and the convenience of home delivery is a plus given that local stores all charge quite a bit to deliver. So, in this price range one could probably do worse than this chair.

Ordered 2 chairs for family room. Nice but very firm -Need to break-in to be as comfortable as old worn chairs. One chair was damaged in shipping. Hayneedle sent return labels & replacement chair in just a few days. Overall happy with online purchase.
