The top of the cabinet slides open to reveal a serving area with that is specially treated to be alcohol resistant, so spills are no big deal. The base of the cabinet features a 15-bottle wine rack in the center, which can be removed and converted to a storage area with a shelf. Above the center storage area, an easy-open drawer holds openers, coasters, wine fobs, and more. Each end of the unit has a cabinet with a wood-framed door with a beveled glass insert and two adjustable shelves. The cabinets are perfect for storing glasses, bottles of liquor, mixers, and other odds and ends.
Constructed of poplar hardwood solids and engineered wood, this cabinet has a rich, multistep ebony finish and brushed nickel hardware. This cabinet was fairly easy to assemble...followed directions to a "T" as we are very type "A" particular people. In order to tighten and make "strong hold" we used the allen wrench that was provided which helped tremendously. We have ordered and put together several pieces of furniture in our lifetime and found this was the most disappointing experience ever! After spending over 3 hours assembling everything and getting it ready to place in our kitchen, we picked it up (easily as we are strong people) to move it and it literally fell apart in our hands--EVERY SINGLE PIECE BECAME DETACHED!! Apparently the hardware was extremely faulty and every single piece that we assembled fell apart in our hands from one lift of the piece. It cannot be reassembled due to the striping of manufacturer inserted hardware as it ripped apart when it fell apart and right out of our hands! Please do not waste your money, your time, or frustration thereafter with the poorly constructed cabinet. It is absolutely not worth it! A review I read before I bought said that the piece was not sturdy, but I thought I had that fixed and tightened with use of the allen wrench. I was proven wrong and am so upset with this purchase. I am now, after pleading my case, waiting to receive an appropriate box to return the item which is another problem with the manufacturer. I believe the consumer, after spending almost $600 and 3.5 hours work putting together, should not have to find a way to repackage and ship the product back; rather the manufacturer should come pick up the pieces and package it for me and take it back and place it in their dump where it belongs!
