Made to simulate stone, the material is a fiberglass typically used in building watercraft.
The water flows over a bronze mirror, and a wonderful, colorful shimmering effect ensues when you run the fountain. This effect is enhanced when the included halogen accent light in the basin is switched on. Care
Distilled water is always recommended; the water should be completely removed and cleaned about once every three months. The units (72 and larger) have a filtration system to keep the water free of debris. The units need to be topped off with water as to keep the pump completely submersed.
Maintenance of Pumps and Filters
The filters are re-usable; they can be rinsed out and replaced in the unit. The pumps have a one year warranty and do burn out occasionally. This is primarily due to the pump being run without proper water levels, causing it to burn out the motor. Bluworld does sell replacement pumps for the units. Bluworld pumps are specially manufactured as to insure that the noise level of the pump does not interfere with sound of falling water.

I love my fountain. It looks beautiful on the wall. I do have to agree with shopping diva that the basin is small for hands when trying to adjust the pump and there is no other way to get to it, if it comes off. I haven't had the speed up problems that diva had and hope that hers is working fine now, because I do love mine, I don't let it run 24 hrs a day as customer service suggested. You do have to keep a check on how low the water gets because it does evaporate pretty fast. Usually I fill up a gallon of distilled water every other week. Very nice quality and expensive looking.

Service and delivery comments:
I have been trying to return this broken fountain I received from Hayneedle for over 3 weeks now! Not only have I corresponded with customer service reps through at least 10 emails, I have spoken to a few on the phone as well. Why is it so hard to get a return label when the item I purchased came broken? I will never buy anything from Hayneedle again and I plan on telling my friends and colleagues about my experience.
