For the money, I was disappointed in this product. To be viable, this planter would need to be protected with several coats of polyurethane or outdoor paint. The strength of the wood as-is would not accommodate a large amount of soil, plants, and water before it would deteriorate or bust open--especially if used outdoors in the elements. The planter would work if it had one or 3 liner planters to put inside. And, the wood is nothing special--did not appear to be cedar or weather-resistant, so I'm not confident about any long term performance. I ended up buying UV resistant plastic planters from another source. I'll modify this planter and use it as a little table or something.

Appearance is great and very easy to install, make sure to have a drill, the wood looks like it wont hold up to abuse or weather conditions, i would put a polyurothane on it, but for the price, it works!
