I bought this table in Sept. 2011. Upon Delivery, a major critical part was missing. Condition of parts made it clear someone had returned this table. Upon Inquiry Hayneedle told me, that I must acquire missing part from manufacturer POWELL COMPANY. Upon contacting Powell Company I was told they did not have the part available. Yes , the manufacturer did not have the part available. They indicated I must call Hayneedle (GreatPubTables.COM) to have an entire new table shipped to me. It would be shipped from POWELL Company. Upon telling them how illogical that was, I was essentially told there was NO WAY they would obtain the part from one of the pub tables boxed in their warehouse and quick ship it to me. Instead they preferred that I shoul;d go through the hassle of reboxing the table, reloading it in my vehicle and bring it to the shipping company it originated. Then, a few weeks later I would have to accept new delivery of a different table, pick it up from where it was shipped to, bring it home and re-unpackage it and say a prayer they packed ALL TABLE PARTS. Obviously you are taking a big risk buying furniture from POWELL COMPANY. I'd rate the condition of the table itself as 6 out of ten. There were quite a few dings and imperfections, but what do you expect from [*] table packaged by a California company who can't even figure out the base of the table isn't in the shipping box? Or doesn't have a stockroom of parts to send out to customers who receive incomplete or defective parts. BEWARE (POWELL PRODUCTS). I didn't need perfection in the overall appearance and finish of this table since it was going in a dark pub. But it would have been nice if the company stood behind their customers when a problem developed. Frustrated and STILL awaiting the part.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love the table but I didn't like the choice of stools that went w/ it. I wish there were more choices/options available at the time I bought the table. I'm now going thru the long and argous process of finding similar colored chairs to match the table. The table was very easy to assemble. We will use it in our kitchen. Very modern and simple.
