Great coffee comes from a combination of factors, and Bunn is a leader in the industry with their classic adherence to the idea of "time, temperature, and turbulence." The BX is a demonstration of how well this method works. An internal thermostat keeps water at the ideal brewing temperature of 200F. A patented sprayhead design creates the "turbulence." What this means is that, unlike most coffee makers, the brew water doesn't just drip down through the center of the coffee filter. Instead, it's gently sprayed over the surface to create movement and ensure the grounds are activated, releasing just the right amount of flavor for the best possible taste. This machine is also available in a high-altitude option. Activities like brewing coffee can be a challenge at certain altitudes in the United States, where temperatures and air pressures can affect the brewing process. The high altitude version of the BX is designed with its own specially engineered thermostat especially for use at those altitudes.
