Made of durable, laminated engineered wood (MDF) in a rich Porter finish, this laptop desk has a second work surface that pulls out when you need it and retracts when you don't. It's all thanks to the handy glides, which are so smooth they're a great reason to finish your work and pack it all away.
A storage drawer with ball bearing guides keeps pencils in one place. Plus, when retracted, this computer desk has an open area between the two surfaces that's the perfect nook for storing a closed laptop. Completing that assignment has never been this easy.

I purchased this desk to fit into a space that previously was a cupboard at the top of my stairway in my small apartment. The space is 35"x35" exactly. I'd considered a built-in but this works well. The space was previously a 'catch all' for everything and not used well. So I had the cupboard ripped out and then finished (painted etc) and put this wonderful desk into it. It fit perfectly with a 'hair' space to spare--it was a tight fit but it went in. (took two of us to get it up the stairs and into the spot) The look is very elegant and the work area is quite spacious more like a feel of a grand office desk. I have lots of nick nacks like most girls and I still have plenty of an area to work on. I now have an 'office' where previously I had no where to work but my bed! The desk was very easy to put together with clear instructions (pictures included - which helps at 11:00pm at night and one too many coffees-with-Bailey's-in and a cat that likes to sleep on the instructions while working) so given those working conditions and an interesting DVD on the TV at the time, it took me four hours total to put together. I'm sure if you are not refilling a coffee cup and fighting with the cat for instructions you can put together the desk quicker. The instructions at some points say 'assistant needed' but I put it together by myself (cat was NO help at all!) [...] I still think it's an excellent value for the money. The desk is very elegant looking and I now have a really good use of a space that was previously not useful for me...I have an office now. The space at the top of the stairs is now used to it's fullest potential. The work area is large enough when open to include papers and the laptop (and the nick-knacks) and when closed it's very attractive. I just need to find myself a desk chair that's not too high to match it and I'm all set! Excellent Desk design. Gail

This desk is just what I needed for my small space. I'm happy with how easy it was to assemble. (Yes, it did take a couple of hours, but I was not swearing at it for those hours.) And I'm very happy with the way it works. The mechanism for pulling out the desk part is whisper-smooth.
Laptop will fit easily in drawer or on slide-in desk surface. I imagine this desk would work well for a full-sized computer, too.

Nice compact desk that fits in a small space. Easy to assemble, except when it came to the slider installation. One problem was when I was all finished, and I was taking off the tags that show the ID of each part, one tag tore off part of the brown laminate - huge white spot left, fortunately it wasn't in an obvious spot.
