My square 35"by 35" table stuck out like a sore thumb in my 10' by 11' foot kitchen. Two people could hardly fit that well in the kitchen. Not enough counter space (noted by people when I once tried to sell the home). Now it is obvious that there is work space and you can eat on this island. We have the dining room table to eat at. Thought it looked strange to have 2 tables in view of each other. Opted for open storage after reading how short the depth was in the enclosed islands. Also bought it because my son was tired of putting things together.
