All pieces have been constructed from polyresin, crushed stone composite with the look and feel of stone but the durability of plastic. Each side's king measures a full 4 inches in height.

In 2003, Studio Anne Carlton line was bought by Traditional Games. They moved manufacturing from the U.K. to China around 2003. All poly resin chess sets are made in China today.
