Bought this to replace the original on my iOptron SmartStar G R80 GoTo GPS Refractor Telescope, that I recently bought from this site. I had a problem with the first one that came with the scope causing double imaging, and went through the process to have a replacement sent out. The replacement came, but it was a cheap piece also, better but still junk. The Celestron diagonal works perfectly, and is built more ruggedly than than the original on the scope. I am very happy with it, no more sitting on the ground trying to see the stars for me!

This is Celestron's model 94115-A Prism Star Diagonal (90 degree). It is very well made and appears to be roubust. The body is plastic, but feels substantial and made to last. The barrels are aluminum. The front barrel is very well chromed and is internally blackened and threaded for glare reduction and use of filters. Internally, the prism is coated and you can see a good green tinge when you look at it.

I originally bought this diagonal for use with my Travel Scope. One of the first things I noticed was that the view was much better than the one which came with my scope, with much reduced aberrations and chromatic coloration. I have since been using this diagonal with my new Astro-Tech AT72ED, a high-end 72mm fast (f/5.9) scope. The view is simply superb. No false color, sharp views, great contrast. I see no need to spend money on a 'high-end' diagonal as the performance cannot be markedly better.

I am really impressed by this diagonal and I highly recommend it based on it's construction and performance, which far exceeded my expectations. While not exactly bargain basement, it is not at all expensive.
