Comments about Celestron Omni XLT 120 Refractor Telescope:
A rugged, high quality and versatile scope that I will probably use much more often than my bigger scope because it is easier to transport and quicker to set up. The German equatorial mount is very solid and the optical clarity is outstanding. I will probably upgrade to the 2" diagonal and lenses at some point but the 1.25" diagonal and lens that comes with the scope was even better than I expected. The telescope arrived in excellent condition and precisely as scheduled. An overall good buying experience.

Comments about Celestron Omni XLT 120 Refractor Telescope:
This is the first telescope I have owned since I was a kid. I did a lot of research and made a good choice with the Omni XLT120 for my reintroduction to astronomy. This is a well built solid telescope. The CG-4 mount is very sturdy and provides a solid base for casual observing and astrophotography. It is heavy, almost 50lbs,so if you have any lifting limitations due to health issues, this is not the telescope for you.I am glad I bought the Celestron filter and lense kit with the telescope.I had a beautiful view of Saturn last week with the 6mm eyepiece.I plan on purchasing motor drives for the mount in the near future.

Comments about Celestron Omni XLT 120 Refractor Telescope:
This is my first telescope and I must say I was surprised by the size even after hearing again and again about it. It is a LARGE refractor and weighs a solid 50+ lbs once set up on the tripod. That being said the build quality is wonderful and the optics seem great for the money. I obviously don't have much for a point of reference but the views of the moon, Orion and Jupiter have been great. I can't wait to actually get it out to darker skies and start exploring. Being a nearly 5" refractor it seems to have great light-gathering potential and I plan on pushing it up to around 300x. I've read elsewhere of people pushing them even further with good views.
I definitely think it's a great beginner scope because it seems to have excellent potential to grow with you. Right out of the box it is very capable with some new eyepieces. Replace the stock 1.25" diagonal with a 2" one and add 2" eyepieces, etc. The tripod can be motorized and polar-aligned.
I plan on keeping this scope for a VERY long time.

Comments about Celestron Omni XLT 120 Refractor Telescope:
This is a great scope with a nice sturdy mount. I've had the older mount and this mount is 100 times better. The scope is well crafted and has great views. I use this scope with Televue eyepieces and a Minus Violet filter so I really don't see much false color. Scope is large and has great views. Great bargain for what you get.

Comments about Celestron Omni XLT 120 Refractor Telescope:
This is a truly fine achromatic refracting telescope, capable of sharp and contrasty images. A telescope like this , when i was younger would have cost several thousand dollars. I have built many of my own instruments in the past, and i currently own numerous comercially made telescopes of differing types and apertures that are housed in my private observatory. I like this telescope, and would recomend it to anyone, beginer or above
