Description
Point it out!
Celestron's Star Pointer Finderscope is a 1X, or "unit-power," finderscope designed to let you point your telescope while you're scanning the sky with both eyes. Finding objects couldn't be easier! A mirror lens projects an LED-illuminated pinpoint into the line of sight, providing a red dot to center on an object you want to view. Easily attaching to any telescope, it greatly simplifies finding celestial objects by acting like a laser pointer pointed into the sky. Brightness is adjustable, and the Star Pointer can be used for daytime observing as well as night. It also comes in handy when you're using binoculars.

I have a 5" scope and this unit is designed for 8" scopes or higher. I didn't like the tape option so I drilled a small hole in the tube to mount the scope with screws.(should only be done if you are handy with tools)but once mounted it is so easy to find your target I cann't see myself using a regular finderscope ever again.

Good Product
This should be the OEM finder on the scope from the manufacturer. Easy to mount, align and use.

Comments about Celestron Star Pointer Finderscope:
Already own an earlier version of the Celestron finder – this one is significantly improved.
A small design but large enough thumb screws to make adjustments easy (without gloves). Although not mentioned in the description the finder does come with two different mounting brackets (plastic, like the rest of the instrument); the different radii allow mounting on smaller or larger scopes.

Comments about Celestron Star Pointer Finderscope:
I heard thru reviews that the finderscope that comes with the AstroMaster is not that good so I decided to purchase the Star Pointer scope with the Telescope. Havent had a chance to use it yet but it looks like it will do the job. I used double sided foam tape to attach it to the optical tube.
