The Chesapeake Poster Bed is an experiment in paradoxical design, as heavy wrought iron twists into a soft, delicate shape. The grandly arched headboard and footboard on this striking bed contrast with the sleek vertical slats, while extensive scrollwork throughout and rounded finials on the posts finish the lovely look. The wrought iron is finished in an antique pewter over a rustic brown base for a sense of depth and timeworn sophistication.

It would be unfair of me to write a headline right now, as I have not yet unpacked the delivery items. The boxes were quite
heavy, so I guessing it is heavy duty and should last a very long time. The freight company apparently got a little rough with the cardboard packaging but I don't really think there is any interior damage. At least I'm hoping not. I hope to get it unpacked this coming weekend. Thanks

First: Hayneedle's customer service is great...5 stars. My item arrived damaged and they made sure I was satisfied.
Second: The bed is heavy, beautiful and sturdy...4 stars. However it is almost totally black rather than a gray it looked like in the pics I saw...3 stars. Color is important when you're buying on line.

I just received the Headboard to the Chesapeake Bed. The quality was really good and it seems very sturdy. The Antique Brown is very dark and rich looking. The picture they have makes it look kind of silver but it is not at all. I debated for a while whether or not to get the entire bed but in the end, chose to only get the headboard. It is beautiful and I am planning on putting it in front of a couple of windows where it will really look great. I looked at many websites but Hayneedle.com had the best price at the time and there delivery was fast!

We just bought a new king bed and had to replace my old wood queen headboard. I only wanted the headboard and this was the only place I could just order the headboard and not the foot board and rails. It is very sturdy and looks great.
