I recently moved into a house with a very small kitchen, and I purchased this item to replace a very makeshift and unsightly cabinet/table solution that the previous owners had constructed.I searched high and low for an attractive island with a deep workspace that would fit in the space allotted and would hold everything that I was already storing in the previous storage unit. I am so happy that I found ekitchenislands.com! This island was the perfect solution!It was fairly easy to built, the construction is solid, the counter space is more than ample and it looks fabulous! The bottom drawers are large and sturdy and the top drawer is so handy. I added a couple of drawer organizers and it's lovely!My only (minor) complaint is that the stainless top endured a couple of small "dings" [...] but I guess that's be expected (to a degree) when ordering furniture online. Regardless, it still looks great!

The cart looks great. Took my husband 4 hours to put together by himself. He said it was not hard just had lots of parts. Stainless steel counter top is pretty. The drawers sturdy but could have better/smoother glides. I love how I can move it around easily. I think the amount of storage is really good for me. I will be using baskets or something on the middle shelf.
Converted kitchen dining area into office/craft area. I will be using this for crafting, wrapping, and kitchen office counter space when needed. It will also work well as food table when we have parties.
We did have to use some white touch up paint on a few nicks on the drawers. I couldn't even notice the fix. Husband made nicks when putting together.
The only negative, and it's a BIG one right now, is the horrible noxious, toxic smell that it has. Especially when you open the drawers. If it does not go away, It's been 2 days, I'm not sure what I will do. Something with the paint I think. It had a notice saying it passed the formaldehyde test. They should have made it pass a smell test.
Because of the smell I could not recommend this to a friend. As far as looks, durability, and usefulness I could recommend to a friend. I'm really hoping the smell will go away, so I can really enjoy my new cart without coughing and gagging.
I would have given a 4 star without the smell. I wanted to give a 1 star because of the smell. So I went in-between with 3 stars.

My daughter put this together for me, and it took about 3 hours with my "supervision". Lol. Anyhow, everything went well, but it smells bad (hoping this fades away soon) and the stainless top is creased on the edges...a LOT. Decided to keep it as it goes great in my kitchen and I don't want to go through putting another one together,

I do like this island. I like it a lot even. It looks great in our kitchen. Their are a few things are keeping me from loving it though.
One, I was really expecting the material to be a bit more sturdy. Some of the pieces arrived with cracks. Luckily they weren't bad and anything you'd see from the outside. Unfortunately the metal top arrived with dings and made the surface uneven.
Two, the instructions were badly designed. These instructions definitely make you respect the thought and detail that goes into Ikea instructions.
Three, one piece was missing screw holes. Luckily it was not necessary to drill to compensate for the missing holes.
Lastly, the drawers do not slide in and out as smoothly as I would like. I can live with this though.
Overall, the assembly was a pain but the end result looks great. It rolls smoothly. I look forward to seeing how this kitchen island will stand up to the everyday life of an expecting couple.

The island is perfect for my kitchen. Very modern design and simple to put together. It took about 1 hour to construct. However, I did have to enlarge the holes during one step so that the screws would fit. Other than that, great product

...4 holes in large drawer side walls were drilled in wrong location, 3/4 inch off.
...design of support bars underneath large drawer inadequate, I shattered one with minimum tightening torque.
....no plugs to cover the bolt holes in the stools. Looks lousy.
Looks pretty darn good after I fixed those flaws.

Instructions started off pretty well and then got very, very complicated. Even though the packaging was done extremely well, the stainless steel top was a bit dented but that could be because the stainless steel is very, very thin.
