Description
Meade announces an incredible breakthrough in solar observing with the introduction of the revolutionary RichView™ tuning method, built into every new Coronado SolarMax II. Now you can zero in on the most precise wavelength of light for each area on either side of the hydrogen-alpha (Ha) band for the highest contrast views of active regions, flares, filaments and other surface features - or quickly retune for spectacular images of prominences on the solar limb. No other commercially available Ha telescope provides the tuning range and accuracy of the SolarMax II.
The patented RichView™ tuning method works by directly tuning the etalon, the heart of the Coronado Ha filter system, which gives you greater tuning range and detail than that found on other solar telescopes.
Solar activity has increased dramatically over the last year. Don't miss out on what experts say could be the best solar maximum in many years.
Coronado by Meade SolarMax II 60mm Solar Telescope with RichView system. Includes Blocking Filter. 60mm diameter Solar Telescope with sub 0.7 angstrom bandwidth filtering for observation of surface detail and prominences on the Sun in hydrogen-alpha (Ha) light.
Used around the world by serious solar enthusiasts and professional research facilities alike for observation of surface detail and prominences on the Sun in hydrogen-alpha (Ha) light. Powerful but very portable, this high resolution Solar Telescope offers dedicated visual observation of the Sun as well as high quality imaging.

Comments about Coronado SolarMax II 60 Solar Telescope with RichView Tuning:
This is a fine upgrade from the Coronado PST. Much brighter views, better detail and finer tuning. I'm very satisfied. Now saving for the $800 double stack option.

Comments about Coronado SolarMax II 60 Solar Telescope with RichView Tuning:
I ordered the SolarMax 60 II with the BF10. The scope is pretty easy to use. Finding the sun with the sun finder is fast and quick, then pull out the tube until the sun comes into focus, then turn the dial for more of a fine tune focus. Then adjust the etalon lever and 'boom' surface detail, prominces, active regions & filaments pop right out at you. The sun is peaking its 11 year solar cycle and will max out in 2012-2013. Thus is a good time to buy. The sun appears as a reddish type color, I thought this would be a bit bothersome but actually its not. The eyepiece it came with gives you 16x magnification. All my other eyepieces seem to work just fine with it as well. Everything is built very nice and looks scientific. Meade did a good job here along with the strong sturdy carry case that it comes with. I was a bit bummed out though realizing that I needed a Barlow lens inorder to use my binoviewers with it.
