The bold stripes of the Couristan Five Seasons South Padre Indoor/Outdoor Rug - Cream/Blue are an ideal accent for a rattan sofa and chair with cushions. This mold- and mildew-resistant rug is made of 100% polypropylene using flat-weave construction. Made in Belgium, it has a one-year warranty and can be cleaned by spraying with a garden hose.

About Couristan Rugs
For 80 years, Couristan, Inc. has been a powerful name in the area rug and broadloom industry. Owned by the Couri family for two generations and operated today by brothers, the company prides itself on having the most exquisite handmade and power-loomed floor-coverings available from anywhere around the world. Founded in 1926 by two brothers and appropriately named "Couri Brothers," the company began its humble beginnings by importing fine handmade area rugs from Persia. The first area rugs imported by the company were a few shipments of Sparta Rugs from Smyrna. At the time, the company began affixing "Couristan" trademark labels to the back of each and every rug it imported. The company would quickly begin to broaden its horizons, as well as its area rug offerings, by importing rugs from India in 1927. In the 1930s, Couristan began importing handmade hooked rugs from China and braided rugs from Japan.

I bought the rug for dual purposes and it performed/is performing beautifully for both intended uses. I first used it as a ground cover for my daughter's one year old birthday party. (See photo.) We have a backyard/courtyard that is primarily pea-gravel, and I did not want the little ones to be stuck in the pebbles. The rug created a comfortable, attractive base for the party. By the end of the day, there was sand, water, and numerous pieces of cupcakes and fruit rubbed in to it. I washed the rug down with a hose, let it dry, and it was spot/stain free! I have now brought it inside to be used in a play room as it is so durable and easy to clean. I have two large dogs and it is has also been easy to remove the dog hair from this rug. The colors and stripes are very attractive and it is a great addition outside or inside. It has stayed flat, even after washing it down thoroughly with the hose.

I created my outdoor space to be inviting and relaxing to the point of hanging specially designed art work for the outside. Remarkably the pictures look as good as new over a year later. Now the carpet has already gone out with the trash about a month ago. When your feet would touch the rug, they would turn blue. The blue stripes would leave this blue fuzzy like stuff on your feet. It looked and felt gross!!! It also started to fall apart shortly after 4th of July. I Saved the tag off of the rug to make sure that I dont ever buy a rug similar to it or made by the Couristan. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND YOUR WALLET, DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY RUG FROM COURISTAN. FIVE SEASON FORGET GET IT - IT DIDN'T LAST ONE!!!!!!

I wanted a big rug that was attractive and durable but light enough that I could shake it out if need be. That's this one! I love it. Just put it down in the porch of my lake house and am going back to get a smaller one for the adjacent family room. Nice! Great price too!
