This mold- and mildew-resistant rug is made of 100% polypropylene using flat-weave construction. Made in Belgium, it has a one-year warranty and can be cleaned by spraying with a garden hose.

About Couristan Rugs
For 80 years, Couristan, Inc. has been a powerful name in the area rug and broadloom industry. Owned by the Couri family for two generations and operated today by brothers, the company prides itself on having the most exquisite handmade and power-loomed floor-coverings available from anywhere around the world. Founded in 1926 by two brothers and appropriately named "Couri Brothers," the company began its humble beginnings by importing fine handmade area rugs from Persia. The first area rugs imported by the company were a few shipments of Sparta Rugs from Smyrna. At the time, the company began affixing "Couristan" trademark labels to the back of each and every rug it imported. The company would quickly begin to broaden its horizons, as well as its area rug offerings, by importing rugs from India in 1927. In the 1930s, Couristan began importing handmade hooked rugs from China and braided rugs from Japan.

I'm putting both of these rugs on my newly stained deck to make outdoor rooms. I love the look and fabric. They look durable and weather proof. I only thing is they could have been a little thicker for the price. They have similar rugs at other retailers and they are larger and thicker. They just didn't have the size, color, and style I wanted.
I hope they hold up to the weather. They look like they will!

The fiber looks like plastic, soft but plastic sheen. It's thin, almost floats on the floor.

This rug is very attractive and looks great on our covered front deck. It is an exact replacement of the rug purchased 2 years ago, as I couldn't find another that looked better. However, it probably should not be left down during the stormy winter months, as the fibers in the middle actually disintegrated after the first season and were literally gone by the second. Hopefully, the replacement will last longer by storing it in the winter...
