Description
Imagine waking up each morning to a hot pot of the freshest, most aromatic coffee possible. It's possible with the Cuisinart DGB – 550BK Automatic Grind and Brew. In a stainless steel and black housing, this brewing machine will look sleek on your countertop and serve up a delicious cup. It automatically grinds whole beans just before brewing, so you get the freshest pot of coffee possible. With 24-hour programmability, you can have the coffee brewed and waiting for you when you wake up. There is a brew pause feature that lets you enjoy a cup before the machine is done brewing, and you can set it to brew one to four cups if you don't need a full carafe. Additional features include an adjustable automatic shutoff from 0 to 4 hours for added safety and a grind off feature for those times when you're using pre-ground beans.
This 12-cup glass carafe equals out to 5 ounces each cup. It has an ergonomic handle and dripless spout for easy pouring and a knuckle guard for safety. A charcoal water filter removes impurities so you'll get a clean, fresh pot with every brew. The gold-tone commercial filter will be great pot after pot, keeping the grounds where they belong. Enjoy easy cleaning thanks to the separate grinder chamber and filter area.

I love this coffeemaker! I love fresh ground coffee, so I love the fact that now I only have one machine on my counter. It takes up no more space than my recently died and "non-grinder accessorized" coffeemaker. It's easy to use and my first pot was perfect. The noisy grinder that I've read others complain about is no more noisy than my 'separate' electric grinder. The grinder needs to be cleaned after each use, but it's no bother - basically it's an easy piece to take out of the machine and then just rinse it under the tap and let it air dry - not a big deal. No grounds were in the pot either. 10 scoops of beans for 10 cups of coffee was the perfect recipe for a great, flavorful cup of java! And if you don't want to grind beans, you shut the grinder off and you can use already grinded coffee. It offers everything I've ever wanted in one machine! Looks great too. Best machine I've ever owned.

I liked this coffee maker until the auto program stopped working. I purchased a second one that started popping open when it brewed and spilling all over the counter. I stopped using the grind feature to stop the popping open. After a few weeks, it started popping open again. I've considered posting a picture of it with the duct tape that I've been resolved to use. I'll bet Cuisinart would ld be proud!

It's an alarm clock and a brewer of fresh-ground coffee! Grinder tells us it's time to rise and shine; the coffee tastes great; the cleanup is quick and easy. Nothing at all to complain about! A great product! (PS- Putting the filter UNDER the basket prior to brewing-- which isn't even suggested in the handbook-- keeps any and all coffee grounds from entering the pot! Try it!)
