Description
Boasting thick shelves and sides, modern lines, no extraneous molding, and a wide double design, this genuine maple veneer bookcase is the ideal combination of beauty and practicality. It's expertly crafted from genuine maple wood veneer over furniture-grade engineered wood using dowel and European cam-lock construction. The back is made of solid plywood, unlike the laminated particle board backs of many other bookcases. The double-wide design with 10.5-inch-deep shelves provides ample space to store and display the thoughtfully arranged items of your choice. A seven-stage, eco-friendly cherry finish completes the go-anywhere style and releases zero pollutants into the atmosphere.
Available in a variety of heights, this bookcase comes with 6, 8, 10, or 12 shelves. The bottom shelves are fixed, but all the rest are adjustable. Assembly is required.

The reviews complained about the wood on the back of the bookcase. I thought I was OK because we were going to put it against a wall. Before you apply the back wood you're supposed to check the main bookcase to be sure that it's square. I have a very nice large square, and a minor adjustment had the bookcase frame square. Now it's time to attach the back wood, but it was way off being square. It's four pieces of thinest wood I've ever seen held together by packing tape. There is nothing except for packing tape to keep the joint in the middle of each shelf from bowing in or out. Take my advise and don't think that maybe I just got bad back wood. The way this is done there is no way that you'll get something that's reasonable. I also got a splinter up my thumb, which gives you an idea what the quality is.

Often times I hesitate when purchasing products online but in this case I was pleased with my pruchase. The finish was exactly as depicted in the photo and the bookcase is sturdy and well-balanced. The only drawback was in the assembly of the top shelf which was a little difficult without the use of an electric screw diver. Otherwise, overall great buy and excellent fit for the office!

I needed a bookcase for the family room for all my DVDs, Blu-Rays and CD's. I didn't want something cheap looking. This double-wide bookcase in Cherry was nearly perfect for my needs! It's very high quality, with real wood used in key places. About the only negative is that the backing is thin/flexible and comes in four sheets kept together by tape (hence 4 stars instead of 5). Other than that, this is a great bookcase.
It was very easy to assemble, but you will definitely need a second person to help you. My friend and I assembed the bookcase in an hour and that was with us taking our time in a cramped area. Once assembled, the whole unit is very solid and looks very expensive.
When my shipment arrived, I discovered that one piece had been nicked. I called the manufacturer/importer on the phone number in the directions, and they shipped me a replacement piece immediately, which took a week to arrive. It was excellent customer service, and definitely makes me feel satisfied in buying this bookcase.
