European Farmhouse Vintner's End TableItem#: HN-STAN2896
We like to think of the European Farmhouse Vintner's End Table the way we think of wine tasting. It's not the bottles, glasses, or even the cheese that make a tasting worthwhile, but the wine itself, the poetry of a good, solid vintage. And this end table has a similar philosophy - sometimes it's the things, objects, collections themselves that make it perfect, and that's why this end table is designed to draw instant attention to whatever you set on top of it.
So the construction is simple, almost deceptively so. Crafted of Dutch white cedar with a hand-cut burl ash veneer top, this end table creates its subtlety through its understated finishes. Choose terrain, a hand-waxed coffee shade brought to life with artisanal hand distressing; or blond, a natural, close-to-the-wood matte finish with a barely there, cream-colored accent glaze. With both finishes, you'll get hand-rubbed, burnished, and distressed effects that all combine to give the wood a lived-in feel.
The simplicity continues with classic details like curved feet, a Doric column pedestal, and an apron that drops down to reveal a small storage compartment. Pair it with other pieces in Stanley's European Farmhouse collection.
The European Farmhouse Collection
Each piece of this unique European Farmhouse collection looks and feels like a prized antique store find, those once-in-a-lifetime discoveries that give your home its unique character. Eclectic accents and colors blend and complement each other like old friends, without being too "matchy." Hand-waxed colors like dark coffee, chalkboard black, and honey blond enrich the Dutch white cedar veneer. Run your fingers across the silky sheen to feel the authentic antiqued distressing, then tickle the Old-World dangle pulls as if this furniture has long been part of your family.
Stanley Furniture Craftsmanship
Stanley Furniture's main objective is to produce quality and stylish furniture by using the best wood materials, construction procedures, and elegant finishes on their products to help you fashion your home decor the way you imagined. All of their furniture is hand-crafted from quality woods, incorporating other superior materials such as aluminum, glass, plastic, leather, and marble. Every joint is carefully constructed (keeping wood's sensitivity to heat and humidity in mind) allowing for expansion and contraction. All joints are held together with glue and nail.
Stanley's 30-step finishing process starts with an undertone stain that is applied to a hand-sanded piece. Next, the stain is sealed with a wash coat, then hand sanded again with filler applied to pack the wood pores and smooth out the surface. A sealer coat is then applied, the piece is hand sanded again, and hand padded to mellow the tone. From there, a luster glaze is rubbed on by hand, followed by antiquing or distressing also done by hand. Finally, after drying, each piece is hand waxed and rubbed prior to final inspection.

Do not place your furniture in direct sunlight and/or a damp area. Arrange your furniture so it is not placed in front of or over heating or air conditioning vents. Avoid placing furniture directly under windows. Be careful not to place plastic materials (place mats, lamp bases, notebooks, etc.) on your furniture. Certain plastics have ingredients that may react with and damage the finish. Occasionally rotate accessories so they do not remain in the same spot for extended periods. Avoid creating marks on your furniture by placing a piece of felt, cloth, or leather under accessories. Lift objects from the top surface rather than dragging them across the finish when moving them. Use a protective pad when using your furniture as a writing surface (especially when using a ballpoint pen). Wipe up spills promptly. Water left over a prolonged period of time will cause white spots in the finish, and alcohol, perfume, after-shave, and medicines can cause severe damage to the finish. Dust frequently with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. To remove accumulated dust or old furniture wax buildup, use a soft, lint-free cloth which has been dampened in a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Dry thoroughly using a clean, lint-free cloth, and then apply furniture polish, wiping it in the direction of the wood grain. It's recommended that the furniture be polished every six months.
