Description

This deck box is constructed of solid Asian fir and reinforced with a wooden support brace along the middle of the lid with double-sided wood edges. Two hinges hold the lid up when fully extended, so you won't have to worry about holding it open. This box should be real simple to put together. The dowels on the back panel do not align with the side panel. One side it's 3.5 inches from the top and on the other side it's 4.5 inches. Annoying. Calling customer service. Also, the wood is real thin. Did not really understand what type of wood was advertised but figured since it was advertised for outdoor it would have been a little stronger feeling.

Within two weeks of being outside, granted its florida, the wood has bowed and the slats on top now stick up and have a gap. Definitely not what I would expect for the cost and for an "outdoor" product. I'm very disappointed as this items looks great, especially compared to the typical plastic outdoor containers, but apparently it won't hold up in the weather.

This hides all my miscellaneous garden stuff and provides extra seating. (But it's a little tall for seating.) It's good to find something like this in wood, not plastic. Although the assembly instructions were totally inadequate, assembly wasn't too hard to figure out by looking at it, but I did waste a lot of time experimenting. If you need something totally waterproof, this isn't it. However, it is protective enough for my things.

Delivery was very prompt, and the box arrived in good condition. Didn't use customer service. Packing materials are styrofoam and bubble wrap--very environmentally wasteful.
