On sale for[$] I say go for it!! For [$] plus shipping, I'd keep shopping. The look of this coop is super cute, which is what drew me to it. Like other reviewers said, the wood it somewhat thin, but still does the job. It was easy to assemble (I did it myself at 8 months pregnant while my husband was at work!) I will say that this coop (in my opinion) is NOT big enough for 8 chickens. We have 4, and I think that is as many as this is appropriate for. Overall I am really happy with the coop, and glad I bought it.

Be prepared. This is like working with balsa wood. It is so soft that there were grooves and pieces of wood broken off right out of the package. The white is a white wash and it will have to be painted in order to last more than one season. There was hardly any wood glue used so it is very flimsy so I recommend pouring it in any open grooves. The handles and hooks are so cheap that when you screw them in they flatten out. I am very adept at building and should have done my own chicken coop but just didn't have time. We are keeping it because we needed something right away but I absolutely say to pass on this one. It is going to take so much extra work that I can't imagine anyone else would want to take that on. I have never been so disappointed in a product. I will never purchase from this site again. I can't believe that a company would actually sell these.

Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:
Needs to be painted, it appears to be painted in picture but was poorly done. Do not feel it will hold up any length of time. Looks really cute tho!
Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:
We've received your feedback and improved every inch of the Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop. Construction of the parts has been significantly re-engineered for greater strength. All parts and panels are a whopping 20mm thick engineered wood board (that's more than 0.75 inches). Corner supports have been engineered into each of the coop panels to reduce tension caused by wind and temperature changes to the panels. The screws have been lengthened for added assurance that the coop will hold up to occasional winds. We went a step further and improved the already snug packaging by adding wood corner protectors and 3-inch-thick Styrofoam. We stand by the design and styling of the Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop and improved the coop because we want you to get the best quality for your money.

Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:
Poor quality of constructed material. Majority of items were boxed broken. Very pretty coop. Wish it was better quality and not so many broken parts. Retuned item back to Hayneedle. Hayneedle customer service is excellent.
Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:
This coop "looks" pretty.. And that's about it. Very cheaply made, not worth the $$$! And entirely too small for 8 chickens. More like 3, maybe 4 chickens. Very unhappy with this purchase :(
