We've received your feedback and improved every inch of the Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop. Construction of the parts has been significantly re-engineered for greater strength. All parts and panels are a whopping 20mm thick engineered wood board (that's more than 0.75 inches). Corner supports have been engineered into each of the coop panels to reduce tension caused by wind and temperature changes to the panels. The screws have been lengthened for added assurance that the coop will hold up to occasional winds. We went a step further and improved the already snug packaging by adding wood corner protectors and 3-inch-thick Styrofoam. We stand by the design and styling of the Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop and improved the coop because we want you to get the best quality for your money.

Be prepared. This is like working with balsa wood. It is so soft that there were grooves and pieces of wood broken off right out of the package. The white is a white wash and it will have to be painted in order to last more than one season. There was hardly any wood glue used so it is very flimsy so I recommend pouring it in any open grooves. The handles and hooks are so cheap that when you screw them in they flatten out. I am very adept at building and should have done my own chicken coop but just didn't have time. We are keeping it because we needed something right away but I absolutely say to pass on this one. It is going to take so much extra work that I can't imagine anyone else would want to take that on. I have never been so disappointed in a product. I will never purchase from this site again. I can't believe that a company would actually sell these.

Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:

i like the design of the coop .... however upon delivery many pieces were damaged.....many pieces of wood were broken beyond repair.
those that could be repaired i did repair.... plus there was no door from the fenced area to the upper section of the coop for security of our chickens.... HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE A DOOR TO SECURE YOUR CHICKENS AT NIGHT?!?!?!?!??!

Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:

This chicken coop was very poorly made and was made with cheap materials.
Some of the pieces were broken when I received it. I was very disappointed by the quality.

        Not worth the money :(

Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:

The coop is not sturdy, I purchased it in May 2013. MY husband had to glue and re enforce with screws upon assembly. Th wood is flimsy and will not and has not held up well during our tropical rains and hurricanes, The latches have been replaced. It is also not very functional for cleaning. However it is cute but that doesn't justify the cost. I will have to replace this coop as I do not see it surviving the winter.

        Cute but very flimsy!

Comments about Boomer & George Cottage Chicken Coop:

This item is very cute, but very flimsy! There were several pieces broken when we opened the box also. I am going to attempt to put a couple of hens in it and use it until I can actually build a coop myself. I was going to return the item, but figured I could probably use this as an "in the garage" brooding coop once I had a sturdier one built.

Needs to be painted, it appears to be painted in picture but was poorly done. Do not feel it will hold up any length of time. Looks really cute tho!
