I own this same set, I bought it at a yard sale in 1988 from a man who had bought it in Italy in 1946. My king pieces are approximately 5 inches, and I would like to find someone who could appraise this set for me. It is a very nice, well-detailed set, and my son and I have enjoyed it Quite well for the last 22 years.

I recommend this product to all who love history and chess. Hannibal is my favorite general of all times and my only grudge against the chess set is the lack of elephants on the board. The board is superb, although I did expect a slightly larger piece (the dimensions offered on the website are correct though, just a perception issue on my side). Price is about right[...]
