The sticker for the height adjustment should be put on last, after measuring the correct height of the rim. The instructions don't really tell you the correct way to do this, and there's a chance the indicator will be incorrectly placed!!

My wife and I just installed the Spalding H frame for us and our kids, and it turned out better than expected, although the installation was a bit of challenge at times. [...] I started digging the 2 ft deep and 2 ft wide hole ahead of time. In our NC clay, it took some effort. I then went to [...]and got the 16 bags of 60 pound cement bags at $3/bag (took 2 trips). I mixed 2 bags of cement at a time in our wheel barrel and shoveled it into our hole, each time packing it down with the end of a 2-by-4. Our cement was more like rock than a quick pour, so I think this was a good idea. When the hole was about half full, I put the sleeve on top of the cement, made sure its height was above the surface about an inch. Then shoveled more concrete into the hole around the sleeve and created a rounded hill at the end for drainage. This all worked well. The hard part was filling the pole with concrete. After banging the two parts of the pole together, I layed the pole on a saw horse and started pouring buckets of cement in the pole. This got messy and I needed my wife to guide the cement into the pole. After each bucket or so, we push and pack the concrete down with a long piece of wood. Once dry, I decided to deviate from the instructions a bit, and install the hoists and backboard while the pole was still on the ground. This was a good idea, because the tolerances on the parts are pretty tight, and I couldn't imagine doing all this on a ladder. In the end, I had to take off the backboard because my wife and I couldn't lift the pole vertical with all the weight. Once vertical, getting the heavy backboard on is a bit of a challenge. I did this my lifting the backboard on top of a ladder with some foam shim so the holes on the backboard bracket lined up with the already installed hoists holes. My wife held the backboard while I inserted the bolts. Well, it's up, and it's far more stable than I expected. It looks pretty nice for a low end model [$], and plays pretty well. I'm happy on how things turned out.
