Ordered this attractive set because of its aged regalness. A very handsome set I might say.
As it states in its desciption "a glass top" I thought great, extra protection from ring marks and scratches.
There is NO glass top with this set. The photos are acurate as to the look of the tables. they are fairly heavy, probably due to the millemine board construction (I guess that is what they call "hardwood solids" now a days).
Be careful of ordering from Hayneedle. I recieved my order and one was damaged. No big deal, it happens when things are shipped. I called customer service they offed a new one OR they will send some money back.
After looking at the boxes they were not the same. The one that was damaged obviously had been opened before and had several differnt shipping lables on the box. Im sure it was a return (for damage)and hayneedle simply sent it out to the next customer hoping they woud accept a $50 credit for damage.
All in all its a sturdy nicely built set and very attractive.
jsut make sure they send you new ones!
