[...] After unpacking, we thought the divider was dirty. I got a wet rag to wipe it down and discovered that it wasn't dirty. The flat white paint is very thin and looks like primer. My guess is that no top coat was applied. [...] I got a great deal on this divider so I can't complain. Overall, it's lovely. I've seen similar size dividers (4 panel) in stores for $1-2,000. If the paint bothers you, you can repaint yourself. The hinges are a nice dark bronze color. The 4-panel divider is fairly sturdy and it takes two people to move it. I plan to use the divider in a corner of my family room with a palm in front of it for a plantation/tropical look.
