The unit is finished in a Kid-Tuff finish, which is the same coating used on gymnasium floors. It's designed to stand up to years of use, resists yellowing and scratching, and wipes clean easily, too. All edges are rounded, and the piano hinges that close the shelves are meant to minimize the risk of pinching little fingers. Each hinge is held on by a minimum of nine screws and pivots 270 degrees, ensuring safety and stability. Casters mounted on the bottom make for easy transport, too.
