What does "BAR pressure" mean?
Pressure is the result of the packed (tamped) coffee giving the water resistance to pass through. The pump forces the water through that resistance and the power it needs to do so is commonly measured in BAR (= kg per square centimeter). A pressure rating is used on most pump-driven espresso machines. 9 BAR, the typical accepted pressure for brewing espresso, is 8.8 atmospheres of pressure or 130 pounds per square inch. Good pumps should be able to provide more pressure (power) than they need to produce perfect espresso so that they don't break when the right combination (fineness and consistency of grind, tamping, amount of ground coffee) are not prevalent. A good pump has a capacity of creating 15 or more bars. To produce a lasting crema on top of your espresso, the water should pass through the coffee at approximately 7 to 9 bars of pressure.

The Jura ENA 4 is a great espresso maker. You can be enjoying espresso coffee in minutes, its easy to use and it basically maintains it self. I spent months researching super automatic espresso makers and settled on the Jura ENA series. The Jura ENA 3 and 4 are basically identical except for colour. The ENA 5 is also the same except is comes with the express frother and some other (in my opinion) minor features. Any one of the ENA 3,4,5 would be suitable, however the price point of the ENA 4 at Hayneedle.com was unbeatable and was a no-brainer purchase for me. if you are in the market for an espresso maker look no further than the Jura ENA 4 and I dare anyone to find a better price that what I paid at Hayneedle.com

This machine is very noisy and has a small water tank. It dosent froth very well and the frothing wand often comes off. Froth and steam are the same thing on this machine. The machine does not make hot enough coffee and it has to be microwaved after its done, even at the highest setting. We were disappointed.

After doing a TON of research (our Delonghi Magnifico broke after 4 years of heavy use) we decided to go with this machine. Online reviews were great and so far the steam wand hasn't popped off once. Love how easy this machine is to use. Plus, it seems the simpler the machine the less to break? We are hoping that's the case with this one. Bean tank is plenty big and so far the small water tank hasn't been too bothersome. Overall we love it. Design aesthetics are a bonus, too.

The Jura ENA 4 is an awesome machine that is well made, comes with an excellent set of instructions (even a DVD that walks you through setup as well as all the ways that you can use it). It makes a great regular cup of coffee - it produces a wonderful layer of crema on the coffee and because of it I no longer want or need to put milk or cream in my coffee which I used to. It makes great cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, and americanos - all very easy to make and they look great. The water tank is a little on the small side, but I am fine with that as I prefer putting in fresh water a little more often rather than having water go stale having been in there several days.
It is so nice having a great cup of coffee available at home any time we want.
For the price this machine at Hayneedle is one of the best values we could find and we researched quite a bit. We are not disappointed! We use it almost everyday for our morning coffee, and can see using it for dinner parties. Nice looking machine, that has very clean lines, and has lots of idiot proof features like it tells you when you need to add water, remove old grounds, etc. Pretty foolproof.
