I said I would review the product after using it. OK I've used the unit since January and have no complaints. Easy to install, easy setup. The only problem I have experienced was user created, I mounted the unit using 1" PVC which created a problem with the rain gauge reporting rain on days when the wind was 15+ MPH (no rain) because the PVC was allowing the unit to shake and caused the unit to malfunction. I remounted the unit on 1" galvanized pipe which corrected the problem and I have no issues now. very accurate rain reporting which I have checked with my manual backup gauge, other functions accurate as well. Recommend the unit for anyone needing an accurate weather station to record and transfer information to your computer for business purposes or just your personal use.

Nice unit when it worked. After a bit of rain water got into the wind unit and corroded/shortcircuited the sensor. The response from LaCrosse was a constant exchange of e-mails with colored, big-font questions and admonitions about batteries (which brand, how old, etc) but no real resolution. I am now left with the unit that has no wind sensor.
Also, the software to transfer data to the PC is (again) nice when it works. Almost every time when the computer is put on standby the synchronization with the weather unit drops (which is understandable) but when the computer wakes up re-synchronization either happens with a long delay(tens of minutes or even hours) or does not happen at all requiring manual resynchronization. Even worse is the situation when the central unit loses communication with temperature, rainfall or wind sensors. To re-establish communication, LaCrosse requires to take out all batteries, put them in a specific order and jump through hoops. All in all a FRUSTRATING experience with a product that looks good but is junk!

I was not very pleased about the wind part, it was so thin that a little drop broke a cup off. That tells me the quality is poor.

Comments about La Crosse Technology Professional Weather Center WS-2810U-IT with Solar Wind Sensor:
See Stan Ho's comments. Problems going off line and getting the whole process reset. Time consuming, has happened two times previous, and on my third time. I took the extra effort to ensure the equipment was easily accessable for this very reason. WHEN it works, I find it very reliable and accurate. PC mode aslo very difficult to program. Still do not have it working.
