My kitchen doesn't have a pantry so good use of storage space is key. This piece is perfect! I wanted tall cabinets in which I could put my Kitchen Aid and/or a giant bag of dog food. Both fit fine. Cabinets are about 23-24" tall. I don't use the shelves, but you have three height options without drilling new holes yourself; middle or up or down by about 3".
Assembly wasn't hard, just tedious. Hardware comes with at least on spare of everything, which is nice. The directions were straight forward.
My boyfriend and I can't agree on much of anything when it comes to furniture, but we both love this piece! I recommend it!

This unit is used in our dining area off the kitchen for both storage and organization for mail/newspaper/school papers and message center. We had been looking for a unit for quite sometime. This one works well, but it is of a lower quality than I would have preferred. If I could have found another design I liked that was better constructed (yes, I would pay more) I would have bought it. Three pieces of the unit arrived broken. After notification to [...], replacements were promptly sent.

Instructions are not sufficient or detailed enough; parts are well identified.. Product is not wood but laminate over pressed something. Could not Attach the top correctly because parts would not line up. I spent almost six hours in assembly, almost gave up at step 2 & 3 but once you get past those it's down hill. I consider myself handy and patient and both of these were stretched! My wife likes the product.

I really am happy with my purchase. It took about 2 1/2 hours to put together but the directions were simple. The only thing is I bought it as an island and you can see the cam locks in the back of the unit. It is an easy fix I just have to go to the hardware store and get something to cover it up. All in all I am excited about my new unit. The black matches my appliances and the cottage oak matches my cabinets perfectly!
