This was purchased to add to my workout routine in bad weather and winter. I work out everyday, running, elipical machine, walking, and weather permitting bicycling outdoors. This is to add to my daily workout sessions. This is a lightweight heavy duty upright bike that is exactly what I am looking for. I bought the same bike for my 80 year old mother who works out on it 4 to 5 times daily (15 minutes) She has lost weight and maintain a good heart rate for her health. She has had 5 stints placed around her heart. She feels good and appears pretty healthy. This bike is sturdy and gives you a good work out. I would suggest you go to a local [@] etc. and purchase a nice bicycle seat cover (gel) to be more comfortable during longer workouts. It works out great. I plan to use this as an added daily workout during anytime of the day I desire. Being over 60 and not on medication as of this time, I am hoping to maintain good healthy heart and work on weight loss to feel better. I have used it for over an hour workout and it does give you a good workout and raises your heart rate. Only wear bicycle pants and/or buy a gel bicycle seat cover. I already did this for my mother. She is happy with her bike, which she has had it over now a year. I likewise like this one. It is sturdy and quiet. I highly recommend this product

If you are even remotely fit (I am a weekend warrior bike rider), this will do nothing for you. "While The Marcy Upright Fan Bike seems to be a winning design, this model is unfortunately the weakest of Marcy's line, and does not get the strong reviews that the upright and recumbent bikes do. It has an uncomfortable seat and the flywheel is just too small to provide much resistance. Many users feel that the pedaling is too easy and offers little to no tension, even when you are giving it all you've got. If you are out of shape, this might sound like a good thing, but even then, this bike is too easy for most users."

Comments about Marcy Air Upright Exercise Bike:
the seat will give you a good case of prostatitis. i am darn serious. do not buy this worthless piece of junk. the handlebars are too far away from the seat as well and encourage you to lean too far forward hence the medical condition. this was even after i took the bars to a mechanic with a tubing bender and put 20 degrees of bend in the bars just above the pivot point in order to bring them closer. no lie, TOTAL GARBAGE. move along folks nothing to see here.

Comments about Marcy Air Upright Exercise Bike:
I bought this for my husband who is disabled and needed to strenghthen his legs & arms - it is perfect for him without too much strain. We had another bike but was too low to the floor & hard for him to get down to - this one is a perfect height & much easier for him to use. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone.
