MD-80 Alaska

Description

Part of the DC-9 family of aircraft, the MD-80 series airliner flies mid-range flights for a number of different airlines around the world. The MD-80 aircraft are updates of the DC-9 airframe, and themselves have a variety of follow-on upgrades, including the MD-95/Boeing 717. Boeing merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997, and the latest in the MD-80 line has been renamed thanks to Boeing's greater brand recognition in the airline market.
