A must have for the Meade EXT-80AT scope. The best viewing is often away from town and the scope travels best in a padded carry case like this one. There is a bit of room to store the eye pieces but little more room for extras like a laser pointer, spare batteries for the scope, or red lens flash light would be welcomed.
The case's walls are a bit thin so if on a camping trip with a packed trunk the telescope needs to be on top.
The scope needs to be focused with the lens retracked to shorten the tube enough that it will fit. If you find that you can't fit the scope in spin the focus enough to shorten the tube.

Although this case offers a fairly good 'fit' for the ETX80 I am very disappointed with the construction quality.
Upon my FIRST use of the item the molding on the lower back seam snapped off. I was not exerting undue pressure nor did I drop or bang the case.
The case contained only the ETX80 and eye pieces all snug in their respective locations. When I lifted the case from the trunk of my car the rear molding strip 'skipped' against a tripod that was in the car. The molding snapped off quickly and the seam of the case pushed open.
This incident is proof enough to me that that case would not withstand even a slight drop or bang to a hard surface.
I now have to repair and reinforce the case - which is not something one should have to do with a "protective" case. I do not think a protective case should be this delicate.

The case is fine and all was in order.. But don't put this case through the gorilla test... Had to modify the foam a little. The scope is about and inch longer then the cut out in the foam. Real snug fit. All and all I would recommend this to a friend.

The question was : Whether this case fits Meade ETX 90-AT scopes ??!! Not a single dealer mentions that on the web !!
1. Well, the answer is : Yes, it fits ETX90-AT perfectly !! , even better than ETX- 80 refractor scopes, because on ETX-80 U have to retract front tube to fit it in the case.
With ETX 90-AT U have plenty room left. Just remove one "precut" removable foam layer in the middle of the case bottom, U still have more than enough foam layer on the bottom for protection.
2. If U cut out a little bit of foam for Dot FInder ( see picture ) , U even don`t have to remove Dot Finder for storing scope in the case.
3. Case is unusually good looking ( I got silver version ). Strong enough & light. I so like it, i ordered the second one for Celestron Mac 90 scope. Actually, U can use it for EyePieces as well , especially for 2inch EP, Flashlights and , u name it, any accessories which u can fit vertically , U just need some custom/pluck foam ...
Overall , it`s perfect wondrously made case. I just love it...

Though the product is a must-have, the price is a rip-off. If you are a do-it-yourself person, you can make one by yourself with a bot of an effort. Also, I didn't know the box came in two forms. I got the one with a non-metallic finish (unlike the one advertised on this site). I guess both should be qualitatively the same.

Product arrived dented due to being shipped in box the same size as case...only wrapped in some plastic
Returned for refund and reordered....New order never arrived...turns out was lost
Reordered and arrived dented again due to same poor packaging...
