Description
Show off your favorite pieces of jewelry and keep them organized in the Richmond Jewelry Box. This wooden jewelry box has a classic, sophisticated look and a rich walnut finish accented by antiqued hardware.
A large mirror makes it easy to try on different pieces; it is tucked underneath the scalloped lid. Two swing-out doors have clear glass windows that reveal necklaces tidily hung from the inset hooks. A generously sized line of ring rolls is displayed behind another sparkling glass display window. Three undivided drawers offer plenty of space for the rest of your jewels. The interior is hand-lined in ivory colored suede. It measures 12 3/8W x 5 5/8D x 15 3/4H inches and is a wonderful gift idea.
About Mele
Emidio Mele, an Italian immigrant to the United States, came to New York City in 1896 and learned to make jewelry boxes as an apprentice before founding Mele Manufacturing in 1912. He began by designing and building elegant displays for jewelry store windows. His jewelry box making business grew throughout the 1900s, responding to demands for boxes to hold Purple Hearts during WWII and developing as a popular household name for quality jewelry boxes. Today Mele Jewelry Box is known as the Mele Companies, which encompass various divisions under the Mele name. Now based in Utica, N.Y., Mele still upholds the family atmosphere on which it was founded and remains America's foremost name in jewelry cases.

This was a Christmas gift for my wife and she absolutely loves it. Great, classic look and plenty of storage room. She loves the glass inserts so the jewelry can be nicely displayed. The only issue we had was one of the drawers was initially stuck (I think it was glue on the side holding it in place) but we were able to fix it without damaging the unit so all is well.

This jewelry box is sturdy and has lots of storage space.
Contrary to the description, there is no mirror under the lid. There are two vertical mirrors behind the necklace hooks, though.
