The comforter is is plush on one side and plain cotton fabric on the other. The plush is very soft and has a nice sheen, but the comforter is a bit thinner than I expected. The pillow sham is also very thin and has no fabric liner to help support it's shape. From the photo, it looks more substantial than it is, but still for the price it's OK.
