You won't need a Craftsman-style decor to appreciate this trunk bench, but it helps - try pairing it with other pieces in the Modern Craftsman collection. The trunk is crafted in the USA of maple and select hardwood solids with cherry veneers. It's finished in a dramatic Mink color that features light rock dent distressing, hand-burnishing, and charcoal highlights that accentuate the wood's natural grain. Leather hand straps and studding throughout make this trunk look like it's bound for a steamer to the Golden State.

Inside the hinged compartment, you'll find plenty of space and a linen lining to protect your items from scuffing and dust. Close the lid with the suitcase-style brass latches and have a seat. The tie-on leather cushion creates the perfect spot for pulling on your shoes in the morning.

Stanley's 30-step finishing process starts with an undertone stain that is applied to a hand-sanded piece. Next, the stain is sealed with a wash coat, then hand sanded again with filler applied to pack the wood pores and smooth out the surface. A sealer coat is then applied, the piece is hand sanded again, and hand padded to mellow the tone. From there, a luster glaze is rubbed on by hand, followed by antiquing or distressing also done by hand. Finally, after drying, each piece is hand waxed and rubbed prior to final inspection.
