Since no one posted any dimensions with the table top expanded (which I would have wanted to know), I will: table elevates vertically to 27.5 inches and horizontally about 12 inches from the original table edge.

I dont mind having to put products together, but this company needs to seriously upgrade their shipping boxes. EVERY corner of the table TOP has visible scratches, due to inadequate packaging. There was also a very visible scratch on one of the drawers that had clearly been covered in with stain, instead of replacing. The knobs on the drawers as well as the drawers themselves, are cheaply made. The lift-top function is nice.

The box was a little beat up with some holes and rips upon arrival and it was raining when it was delivered; I was worried since I was at work and unable to get it inside for a few hours but everything was dry inside even though the box was damp on the side that wasn't completely under my front eave. It was very easy and mostly straight forward to put together but it would be helpful if the instructions showed steps and not just one diagram because it was hard to see exactly what holes the screws went into. The finish is a gorgeous cherry that is way too hard to find in any store which is why I would up purchasing a coffee table online. I had to tighten some screws on the lifting mechanism as it was very wobbly. It's definitely not the smoothest operating lift top table I've ever seen; I actually have to shove it down whereas my last roommate's lift top could be pushed down with just your toes and minimal effort. Hopefully after I buy some wrenches to tighten all of the parts and use some WD40 the lifting mechanism will work as well as the more expensive, store assembled ones I've used. After assembly I noticed that one of the corners of the top piece is deeply scratched. Like, four or five 1/2"-2" long scratches that are an absolute eye sore. Since I had to tear open the box to get all of the pieces out and this item literally weighs as much as me, it would have been far too difficult to disassemble on my own and get back into the box and tape it all shut.
The table looks gorgeous and is a very sturdy piece that doesn't look or feel remotely cheap. I just wish I didn't have to look for a wood stain pen to mask deep scratches and have to go buy wrenches to make it look perfect and work properly.

The table is beautiful; the color is exactly as it appeared on my computer screen; the lift hinge works smoothly and easily. The hinge lifts the surface to standard table height and moves it forward enough to be a work surface. The casters make it very easy to position even on thick carpet. I put most of it together myself and thought the rest was a two person job, but my son the engineer came over, stood it on one side and finished the assembly with no help from me.

Received this lift top coffee table and matching end table and I must say, Steve Silver packages their products to arrive in perfect condition (thank you, FedEx, too!). Everything was secured in place, well protected, easy to remove, easy to assemble, great picture instructions, and not a scratch to be found anywhere! Even the lift top table locks into place while assembling. The wood is beautiful, the top works flawlessly, and the castors make it easy to move about the living room, and the drawers are actually on both sides of the table. Well worth the price.
