The Nine Stars DZT-80-4 Touchless Stainless Steel 21.1 Gallon Trash Can combines durable design and state-of-the-art technology. This hands-free receptacle features an infrared motion sensor that detects when your hand is within 10 inches near the lid. It then opens and allows you to throw out your trash and closes automatically when you remove your hand. The sensor is located at the top of the trash can, and motion must be above the sensor in order to activate the lid. Durable stainless-steel construction provides a classic look, easy clean-up, and protection from rust and water damage. It operates on four D batteries and can be opened and closed a minimum of 10,000 times before needing battery replacement.

We love this trash can. It works well and for this type of auto open and close can it is a good buy. We are buying a second one for our second home. We like the larger size so that we don't have to empty the can so often and because it opens and closes itself and has such a large opening, it stays clean and attractive on the outside. For us, it's worth the [$] price tag.

The size is great for the family and convenient when hands are full; problem is no one makes bags for 21 gal cans. We had to buy 30 gal.
