You'll never have to worry that you left the gate open again, since it will compensate for your parental absentmindedness all by itself. Adults can open the security latch with one hand, a plus since the other will probably be holding a baby.
Made from white powder coated metal, this pressure mounted gate is easy to install using the child-proof locking hand wheel with a built-in mounting cup. It's sturdy enough to be JPMA approved for top of stairs installation. Various extensions are sold separately to ensure a perfect fit with any size doorway or opening up to 125 inches wide total.

My wife and I bought this gate once our baby began crawling to keep her from falling down the stairs. After doing quite a bit of research, we went with the North States Auto Close Gate based on the good reviews of this product. We are both very pleased with the construction and aesthetic quality of this gate. The only negative that I could find, is that it can be a little loud if allowed to slam closed on its own. And be sure to check out the gate extension buying guide on the manufacturer's website if you need to increase the length.
