What We Like About This Pet Vehicle Safety Harness
The Pet Vehicle Safety Harness is designed with your pet's safety and comfort in mind. Heavy-duty straps attach to a fully-padded, fleece-lined, machine washable safety vest to secure your pet. We use only full metal connectors at all the load-bearing points - no plastic buckles like others use.
The safety leash is made from a special material that is strength-rated, but provides a slight amount of stretch to absorb shock in the event of a sudden stop. Our unique leash design integrates with the vehicle's seat belt tensioning device, thus providing range of motion while traveling, but locking in place during sudden braking to keep your pet secure. This design also makes it easy to load and unload your pet, and installs easily in all vehicles.
The Pet Vehicle Safety Harness is offered in 4 sizes, based on availability: Small fits pets from 6-25 pounds; Medium fits pets from 20-55 pounds; Large fits pets from 45-85 pounds; Extra Large fits pets from 60-120 pounds.

I've burned through several different brands of dog safety harnesses. The Solvit Harness is far and away the best. The method of attachment to the car seat shoulder harness is well designed and bulletproof. The metal "D" rings make it easy to adjust the harness to a nice snug fit. There are no loose fitting parts or accessible straps that my dog can reach to chew. The only improvement would be to replace the plastic snaps in the rear with metal. That would make the Solvit Harness a five star product. Still, this is the harness to buy.

We have the ramp by Solvit and it has held up well and is easy to use for both us and the dogs. I like the padding the harness has and it appears to be sewn well with good size nylon strapping and buckles. No dog likes to be restrained but let's face it, traveling can be very hazardous and I buckle up dont you? Why wouldn't I safeguard my pet as well. Working with them in short trips with lots of treats gets them comfortable with the harness/buckled in very quickly. And after all, I love them and want them safe so it's worth any effort it takes to protect them.
