The bed looks like it is decent quality. It is made of pine, not mdf or particle board, so it seems solid. The head board was dinged up a bit when I got it. Fortunately it will be against the wall. Just built it today so we will see how well it holds up. I had a problem with the shipping time on this item, it took over a month for of it to come. I first got 3 of 4 boxes (a month later) then I had to wait a week for the fourth box. I was really concerned that it would come in time, it was annoying to have three large boxes laying around while I waited for the box with the hardware and instructions in it. Not sure if it was the shippers fault or the companies, but I would give yourself a lot of time to get the item

The bed is very sturdy and well constructed. The wood is a bit delicate/soft though so I'm not sure how it will hold up cosmetically to rough housing by little boys. Aesthetically it's very attractive. I love the stairs.

Delivery was a bit slow but the package came in nice condition. The freight company was polite and helpful.
