Crafted of all-weather, highly resilient materials, this bench is never going to need sanding, painting, staining. It will never warp, rot, fade or deteriorate. How, you may ask? First off, it features a steel frame with a super tough powder-coated finish in your choice of black or white. Secondly, the seat and back slats are crafted of Poly-lumber, a weather-proof material with the look of wood and the durability of very hard plastic. These slats are offered in a wide assortment of colors.
About Poly-Wood
The advantages of Poly-Wood Recycled Plastic are hard to ignore. Poly-Wood absorbs no moisture and will NOT rot, warp, crack, splinter, or support bacterial growth. Poly-Wood is also compounded with permanent UV-stabilized colors, which eliminates the need for painting, staining, waterproofing, stripping, and resurfacing. This material is impervious to many substances, including salt water, gasoline, paint, stains, and mineral spirits. In addition, every Poly-Wood product comes with stainless steel hardware.
Poly-Wood is extremely easy to clean and maintain. Simple soap and water is all you need to get rid of dirt and make your furniture look new again. For extreme cleaning needs, you can use a 1/3 bleach and water solution. Most Poly-Wood furnishings are available in a variety of classic colors, which allow you to choose your favorite or coordinate with the furniture you already have. I purchased one for a gift and then had to have one for myself. One minor problem were the holes in the legs did not line up with the base part and I had to redrill the holes in the base for the screws. Not a big thing for me but some may find it a little difficult to assemble. It is a great product and should last a lifetime

Replaced a cast iron/wood bench that would rot every 3/4 years. I think it is much more attractive than the cast iron/wood bench that it replaced. Very strong. Polywood is great and has a textured surface, powder-coat finish on steel parts is excellent. Takes time to assemble but drill/driver makes it go faster. I will be interested to see how well the color on the Polywood holds up. I purchased the green Polywood with black frame. Looked at a lot of benches and chose this one, reasonable price.
