A seamless threaded coupling gives this umbrella a sleek appearance, while its two-piece assembly means it can be stored and transported with ease. The poles screw together in the coupling, which is more durable than the typical push-button coupling. A durable resin hub and runner are capable of handling years of use.
The simple push-up lift is easy to raise, and a pin locks the canopy in position. This umbrella features fiberglass ribs, which allow for greater flexibility than ribs made from other materials. Fiberglass ribs will stand up to windy conditions and are less likely to break if the umbrella should tip over.
For the 7.5-ft Commercial Aluminum Patio Umbrella, we recommend at least a 25-pound umbrella stand if you are using it with a table. Use at least a 50-pound stand if it will be freestanding, or a 70-pound stand or higher when used in a particularly windy area.

Cleaning and Caring for Sunbrella
Regular maintenance is the best way to keep your Sunbrella fabrics looking good and delay deep, vigorous cleaning. Brush off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, and wipe up spills as soon as they occur. For light cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution and a sponge, allowing your cleaning solution to soak into the fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and allow fabric to air dry.

We have some high wind here (foot hills of the Black Mountains 3000 Ft) so I've been looking for three umbrella's that are good in wind to replace two that broke at the tilt mechanism and one that broke at the bottom that goes in the hole in the patio. About six months ago I bought one of these 7.5 ft Commercial Grade Aluminum Patio Umbrella's and have had it in wind of up to 20 mph with no problem. I don't think I would go any higher but it has worked for me up to 20 mph on my wind gauge. So much so I bought two more to make three. Excellent. I think the 7.5 diameter and no tilt is the key in wind resistance.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have only used the umbrella a couple of times but it looks to be well-made. I chose it because the sapphire blue matches the blue in my striped Sunbrella awning. (The color in the catalog is not accurate but if you go on the Sunbrella website you will see what sapphire blue looks like.) The aluminum pole and pin are of good quality and although there is no crank or tilt feature, it is easy to raise the umbrella and insert the pin. It was more than I wanted to spend, but I am happy with it and expect it to perform well for many years.

I needed a smaller size umbrella and most were 9 foot. I needed the 7'5 foot for my narrow deck and it is the perfect size. I ordered the green ginko canopy - the color is so fresh. The fabric is of excellent quality. It has already withstood an unexpected thunderstorm. The aluminum pole is heavily threaded holding two separate pieces together. I seems extremely solid. I would totally recommmend to others.

Quality of the fabric is excellant as well as the framework of the Umbrella. Like the 4 holes at the bottom of the pole which allows the secure fastening of the umbrella to the umbrella stand. So far the wind resistant qualities are good.
