I went through 3 of these things - all due to the motor burning out within days. I lightly loaded the hopper, so it was not caused by overloading. The unit was running in a cool environment, so overheating was not a factor either. Due to its construction, the motor is impossible to replace (the plastic base is hot glued together), so you have to return it to the factory. Buy something else!

I had a TV-5 that failed in 40 days so I replaced it with this one. It is SO much more sturdy and heavy. Well worth the upgrade
It takes me 8 days to do river stones and the results are amazing. Nicer than mass polished rocks from a store

I bought this tumbler two months ago, and the motor just quit working. Out of that time, I probably ran it three weeks. I'm extremely disappointed in the product.

I have moved to Northern Michingan and our beach is rocky; filled with Petoskey stones. I have already used the rock tumbler and polishing products and they have exceeded all my expectations; resulting in nice gifts for all six grandchildren. They are all excited to find their own stones this spring and polish them. Excellent products.
