What We Like About the Seashore Wind Chime

Each variety of this appealing chime has five silver anodized tubes, which are tuned to C, D, F, G, B-Flat. The tubes hang from a ridged piece of White Ash wood and the ocean-themed resin wind catcher is quite realistic. Choose from sea star, sand dollar, and scallop wind catcher options. This chime comes in three lengths, depending on which wind catcher you choose. When you hear this chime, your mind will wander to a relaxing place, such as a cottage on the beach or a sail boat on a breezy day.

Woodstock Percussion Wind Chimes are tuned using a computerized tuning process in order to achieve incomparably beautiful sound. These wind chimes also use an ancient tuning system known as just intonation. Because these notes fall between the notes of a piano (which is tuned using the modern equal temperament system), the chime has a unique, authentic quality. The frequencies at which the different tubes vibrate are integrally related, thus producing the purest musical intervals. Wind Chime Length: The length of a wind chime is measured by the overall length of the chime (not tube length) - hanging hook to the end of the sail. This windchime is 24, 23, or 14.5 inches long overall.

Care

Every part of a Woodstock Chime is weather protected. Over time, however, those layers of protection can begin to wear. To enjoy your Woodstock Chimes for years to come, we suggest the following simple maintenance tips. Periodically, apply a thin layer of Danish or lemon oil with a clean cloth to the hardwood parts. Regular oiling will help protect the wood and retard the natural aging process. The tubes of traditional Woodstock Chimes are made of anodized aluminum that will not rust when exposed to the elements. However, over time, the aluminum may show pitting as a result of environmental factors. Please note this will not affect the beautiful tones of your chimes. Use mild soap and water (or a foaming, non-abrasive cleanser) to clean the tubes, glass or plastic parts. Try not to dampen the string.
