The wood is finished in a dark walnut stain with lacquer and a hand-rubbed wax finish applied over zebra wood veneers, which results in a rich, vertical and horizontal grain pattern on each block and the single door frame.

The shelf and interior are fully veneered to provide smooth surfaces to protect personal items stored inside. A simple finger pull opens the door and maintains the pure wood appearance of the piece.
